<p>Reader Question: I have a good starter and alt.sometimes when i go some where and park it for the day ,the next morning it’s hard to crank . It’s turning over fine ,no dragging or nothing. The fuel pump is comeing on ,also I hear the fuel pump relay comes on. could it be the regulator not keeping the fuel up to the injectors? i need help.
Hey there
IF the starter is turning the engine over and over, but the engine is not starting then you are missing one of the main ingredients to start a combustion engineā¦.fuel or spark. You need the proper fuel pressure, so just because you can hear the fuel pump does not mean there is enough fuel pressure to start the engine.
Sometimes you can bang on the bottom of the fuel tank with your fist or a rubber hammer AS someone is cranking the engine over and over to help jump start a weak fuel pump. Your mechanic can check the fuel pressure at the engine with a manual screw on fuel pressure gauge to determine if the pump is at fault.
You could missing spark to the spark plugs. I would check to see if you have a good strong spark to each spark plug.
