My 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera is leaking gas, right where my fuel filter is located. I was wondering if it would be safe to drive until I can get it fixed? Thanks,
Lauren
Hi There Lauren
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Never drive a vehicle that is leaking raw fuel. Hopefully it is just a defective fuel filter, but get it fixed ASAP, maybe even have it towed if you think it is leaking that fast. The exhaust system which is VERY hot, is also in that area as the fuel filter.
Blessings,
Austin Davis

These cars commonly have an aftermarket fram filter put on them, which, depending on the build date, was recalled because it did not match factory specs and was prone to leaking. the oem fuel filter manufacturer would more than likely replace it for free.
