Hi Austin,
I appreciated your article on brake fluid replacement.
I have a two year old Mazda 3 (tiny car) and the Mazda dealer did it for $118.00, and I only have about 33,000 KM (about 24,000 miles). I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Quick question - does this sound like a rip off?

I am not familiar with the labor rates that are charged in Canada, so I cant say exactly if this is a reasonable price or not…I can say that most fast lube places here in Houston TX are running brake flush specials for $89.95….and that might just be the labor.
So with some parts and tax charges I would imagine the final price gets close to what you paid. Personally I would flush the brake system about every 40,000 miles or so….24,000 in my opinion is a little premature for a two year old vehicle, but it certainly will not hurt to have it done more often.
