Intake Manifold

You might have heard of this popular car part before but have you seen one?

Intake manifold system—The intake manifold is what the throttle body injectors mount to.  The intake manifold is located on the top middle part of the engine. The primary objective of the intake manifold is to distribute the fuel from the throttle body (or carburetor) to each cylinder in the engine.

Many things bolt to the intake, temperature sending units, thermostats, E.G.R. valves, vacuum switches etc. The intake manifold also circulates antifreeze to the engine.  It is possible for faulty intake manifold gaskets to leak antifreeze, gasoline and engine oil.
