Intake
manifold system—The intake manifold is what the throttle body injectors
mount to. The intake manifold is located on the top middle part of
the engine. The primary objective of the intake manifold is to
distribute the fuel from the throttle body (or carburetor) to each
cylinder in the engine.
Many things bolt to the intake,
temperature sending units, thermostats, E.G.R. valves, vacuum switches
etc. The intake manifold also circulates antifreeze to the engine.
It is possible for faulty intake manifold gaskets to leak antifreeze,
gasoline and engine oil.
