Tool- A scan tool is used to read the on board vehicle computer
data. The scan tool plugs into the vehicle computer via a data
connection usually located under the steering column. This tool
allows the mechanic to read what the vehicle computer is reading.
We commonly refer to this tool as the “computer”…..”we need to
put it on the computer”
