Antifreeze Smell and Leaking On Floor

Austin Davis, November 12, 2007November 9, 2014

Hi there,
I noticed on the way home from work tonight that I am getting an odor of antifreeze while the heater is on but only when I come to a stop or slow down below ten MPH.

Do you know what might cause this?
please help I can not aford for somthing bad to happen to my truck right now.
thank you in advance
James

Howdy James,

I would suspect you have a coolant leak in your heater core. You need to get a cooling system pressure test done FIRST to make sure of the leak, and just about any repair shop or oil change place can do that for you.

Here is an article I wrote awhile back on the subject and a quick patch tip.

Heater Core Leak

Blessings,

Austin Davis
