How to Change Windshield Wipers

There are automobile maintenance tasks that need to be done regularly. One of them is replacing the worn windshield wiper blades. Changing your windshield wipers will enable you to ensure a safe drive on the road especially if you live in a place with snowy or rainy climate since it optimizes the viewing capacity and aids in window defogging. There are many types of wiper blades available on the market, but make sure you buy those with high quality. However, if you are unsure how to change windshield wipers, here is a quick guide on what you should do.

After purchasing a new set of blades from your local retailer, you are now ready to change your wipers. Disconnect the old windshield wiper blades from the arms of the wiper. You may hear a snap from the bottom or the top then the blade will come out. After that, you should snap the insert into the new windshield wiper. Remember that when you are change windshield wipers, you should always check the correct direction to snap the insert for your vehicle as it may vary from other types of vehicles. After that, pull the wiper arm back and then slide the new blade. You should snap the insert down so the blade will not slide off. Once you did that, swing the blade down so that it is resting on the windshield. Try running the wipers at full speed for several seconds to make sure they are attached properly.

Learning how to change windshield wipers is easy and doing it is easier. Make sure you check if the wipers are working properly especially if you are expecting bad weather. A simple thing can go miles when it comes to your safety when driving.
