You might want to buy a can of Marvel Mystery Oil from your local auto parts store and add it to your engine oil. It is a top end lubricant that really works wonders. You might not be lubricating the top of the cylinder head on first start up so the valves/lifters are dry of oil until the engine oil pressure finally gets high enough to push the oil to the top of the engine.
Make sure you are using the proper weight of engine oil. If the oil is too thick, it is hard to push to the top of the engine especially when it is cold or on a first start up in the morning.
